About Us
White River Productions is a national leader in the field of railroad-related publishing. Our publications serve historical societies, railfans and modelers alike in providing the highest quality images and articles possible, covering the various railroads across North America and their long and important histories.
We follow John Marbury's principles as set forth in the "Uncle Eric" books:
A Brief History
Founded in 1992 by Kevin EuDaly, President, White River Productions is currently producing 15 historical society magazines plus calendars, books, and other peripheral items such as membership brochures, advertising rate cards, annual meet announcements, and ballots. The company began when owner Kevin EuDaly decided to write and publish Missouri Pacific Diesel Power. He was then editor of the Missouri Pacific Historical Society's magazine The Eagle, and went on to produce Route of the Eagles, the Missouri Pacific in the Streamlined Era, and Santa Fe Rails, Volume 1 (now out of print). It became a full-time venture with a move from Kansas City to rural northern Missouri in the spring of 1996.
During 1995 and 1996 Kevin also edited The Warbonnet for the Santa Fe Modelers Railway Historical Society for one year, a result of the merger between that organization and the Santa Fe Historical Society the previous year. Several more books were published and then WRP began to produce Lines South for the Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Air Line Historical Society. The C&NWHS soon joined WRP with Kevin taking on full editorship and production of North Western Lines, one of the industry's leading historical society publications. Three other organizations soon followed, bringing the total to five magazines, four quarterly and one bi-annually. In June, 2005, WRP hired Mike Schafer as overall Art Director, and the Milwaukee Railroad Historical Association's The Milwaukee Railroader and the Erie Lackawanna Historical Society's The Diamond began production under WRP a few weeks after Mike's arrival. It is of note that both of these magazines transitioned to WRP during the same time period with essentially no complications.
In June 2005 Dale Sanders, who had edited and produced CTC Board Railroads Illustrated for 27 years (the last 10 under Hundman Publishing), transitioned into books for Hundman, leaving the reins of CTC Board after nearly three decades. In November 2005, WRP hired Dale Sanders, who brings not only magazine experience but overall publishing experience and additional book production capabilities. His books have long been favorites in the industry, beginning with The Milwaukee Road by Fred Hyde.
White River Productions today employs 13 full time staff, along with other part-time staff as required on specific projects.
